 I knew when her fame sky-rocketed through the success of  ”Transformers” and

various magazine spreads in GQ and Maxim Magazine, that David Silver’s

 days with her were numbered. They call the split “amicable”.

 Its just Hollywood math. Your fame + his lame= a break up.

Let the line of single guys start forming…NOW.

I’m sick with that nasty head cold that everyone else seems to have, or had.

If you haven’t gotten this bug yet, watch out, you’re likely to be next!

I have managed to keep up on the dirt the best I can, although the continuing

coverage of stories like the deadly chimp and the mysterious missing girl in

FL have more of my undivided attention…than the celeb drama.

*Okay, what’s with the newest missing (and adorable!) girl down in FL? Does

anyone else think it’s weird that the girl’s father’s girlfriend is only 17 years old? And

stupid is as stupid does? Have you seen her on the “Today Show”? Good

grief. Matt Lauer was almost seen PHYSICALLY shaking his head today

when she tried answering his questions about this missing girl. I wanted to

hear Homer Simpson in the background saying “Doh!”

I think the girlfriend is behind this.  I think she felt threatened or jealous about the

little girl getting her daddy’s attention and I think she hated how he still had contact

with the girl’s mother when they split custody. I hope for the family’s sake,

that this all ends in finding her, and soon, but I just don’t know. I have this

weird gut feeling that she will be found dead and that the girlfriend will be

to blame. Don’t mark my words, but I think I’m gonna be saying “I told you so”.

*I’m officially tired of hearing about “Octo-Mom” or as some of the more

 vulgar tabloids call her “Octo-p*ssy”. I don’t care if she’s shopping at

 the MAC counter at Nordstrom. I don’t care if she is touring a $1.24

million dollar house for sale. Just TAKE care of your 6 little kids and

your 8 babies! I feel sorry for her mom and dad, who have been raising

the 6 older children during this whole ordeal..and who are on the public’s

side about Octo’s mental state of mind. And I will definitely be watching

the interview on “Oprah” Tuesday when her father sits down and

stresses how bad this situation really is. (Oprah airs right here on

Channel 11 at 4pm).

*I’m sure by now, you’ve seen the picture released by TMZ of Rihanna

after her alleged attack by boyfriend Chris Brown. I’m not posting it here,

I just think that’s disrespectful, but if you want to see why HITTING

chicks is awful ,go to TMZ.com. (If there’s any silver lining in stories like this one,

the picture DOES say 1,000 words and her attacker is screwed!!)

*So will you be watching the Oscar’s on Sunday night? I am going to try..

but I’ll be returning from a little weekend downy Ocean hon (Ocean City

that is), so I might have to catch the re-caps on Monday.

But more importantly, did you see any of the movies nominated? I never

usually do, but that’s always because its like $40 to go to the movies now.

I loved The Dark Knight, and I’d love to see them win some golden statues.

Unfortunately, I did buy one of the Oscar nominated movies On Demand,

and it was a waste of $4.99 and my two hours. DON’T see “ Tropic Thunder”.

UGH. Terrible! Back acting by some otherwise fabulous actors and the most

predictable story line ever.

Anyways, I’ll at least recap some of the wardrobe mishaps on my blog Monday.

IF the allegations are true, you are the lowest of the low.

This past Sunday night, while the rest of the music world was celebrating

at the Grammy’s, rapper and R & B star, Chris Brown, was turning himself

in to the police on charges of felony criminal threats and assault.  Details

provided by California police indicate a physical altercation with a female

took place inside his rented luxury vehicle, in a park ,where Brown assulted

a female with his fists.

TMZ.com managed to dig up the name of the victim and it was Robyn Fenty, also known as 

Brown’s girlfriend, pop-princess, Rihanna. 

Details as recently as this morning on TMZ have law enforcement officials calling Rihanna’s

injuries “horrific”.  She had two large contusions on her head, had a bloodied nose, a split

lip, swelling, bruising and bite marks on her arms. That to me, describes one hell of a beating!

IT IS JUST INEXCUSABLE. Fortunately, a witness heard the screams and called 911. Although Brown

originally fled, he turned himself in within hours, and Rihanna (“the unnamed victim”) is pressing all

the appropriate charges.

So how does pop music’s most perfect couple end up in the  news with THIS story? Well, according

to a 2007 article in Giant magazine, Brown comes from a childhood home with a history of

Domestic Violence, that’s a start. Perez Hilton stated on their website just yesterday that

when Brown was a child, he witnessed his own mother being abused by his step-father.

A continuous vicious cycle.

Well, that isn’t going to justify his actions once he faces a judge. Like I said at the beginning

of this blog, “Innocent until proven guilty”. Whether it was Rihanna or not, it made

me look at Brown’s talent as now as a complete waste. And now that we’re hearing from

LAPD sources that it WAS in-fact Rihanna, it really sickens me.

I’d like to think this was all a “big misunderstanding”, but I doubt it. These rappers and singers

think they are invincible. “A youthful indiscretion”. Well, you hit a women, and the game changes.

You’re not a thug, your a guy who should get exactly what you did to the victim. And if you are convicted,

let’s see if you can “Run It”  Chris Brown, because I can’t imagine most of your cell mates will be

forgiving of your violent, physical and emotion marks on this beautiful woman.

So did you watch the Grammy’s? For a  Sunday night in February when there’s not

much else on TV, I imagine most of you did. But what did you think? Honestly, I thought

they were pretty good overall! (Of course, what does it say when I was starting to lose

interest in the 10pm hour and found myself more on the USA network watching a re-run

of “House” then the 3rd hour of the awards program?)

My highlights:

*Justin Timberlake & Al Green. Spectacular. JT is just a like-able performer and “Let’s Stay

Together” is a personal favorite. Green still has it, baby.

*Chris Martin & rapper Jay-Z…into Coldplay’s performance. Well executed. That’s what I

want to see when I commit myself to watching the Grammy’s.

*Kid Rock. Wow. He was actually dressed sharply, brought a powerful performance…

and I especially liked that he put up his mugshot during the show. Whether you love him

or hate him, he is a “hits machine” and knows how to get onto every single awards

show there is!

*Jennifer Hudson. (An interesting disagreement took place between my boyfriend and

I during Hudson’s soulful performance, but ultimately, I stuck to my guns. She has had

A LOT on her plate this year. I don’t know where she got the strength to make her singing

 comeback in time for Grammy’s and Superbowl, but I personally applaud her. ) I guess

I’ve always liked her, since her “American Idol” days, but I like her so much more for

what she’s had to battle, publicly and personally, these past few months.

*Rapper M.I.A’s performance with Jay-Z, Kayne West, T.I. and Lil’ Wayne. I just loved it. 

The song is hot, they brought four of the biggest rappers out there together on one stage

for the first time ever, and while I don’t know much about M.I.A., I know that last night

was her baby’s DUE date,so to get up there and perform is pretty great (although I would’ve

preferred more clothing on her. I’m just saying!)

*Performers Kayne West and Estelle doing “American Boy”. I loved the performance,

Estelle looked very “classic” and I was amused by Kayne’s tribute to the Commodores.

What was that get-up? Was that the widest African-American mo-hawk ever? And what

was with his driving gloves and glittery jacket? haha…it was a hot mess, but I was fully

engaged in that 3 minute performance.

*Sugarland with Adele. Hey, someone should call Amy Winehouse and let her know,

we’ve found a classier, cleaner new version of her star power in Adele. This girl is going to

go far. She’s an amazing singer that can really bring home the blues. Her only mistake last

night, was singing with the ho-home band Sugarland. She just proved her talent is so

large, she can sing with just about anyone!

My low-lights:

*What’s the deal with Carrie Underwood? Yes, she’s hot, really hot , but does anyone besides

 me think she’s NOT a country singer? She wore a sheer Beyonce-style dress with legs as long

 as my whole body, and a glittery microphone and full rock guitar band behind her?! That’s not

 country, sweetheart, that’s rock-n-roll. Just cause you sing about a break up doesn’t make

 a country singer!

*Sheryl Crow..this is strictly a wardrobe gripe, but that dress? Maybe if it had been ANY other color

but green, she wouldn’t have looked like the Statue of Liberty.

*Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift. Did anyone else feel like they were at their favorite Fells Point pub

listening to some un-inspiring acoustic singers? Maybe it was just me.

*Stevie Wonder and The Jonas Brothers. Really? Really. How did this even happen? Does Stevie have

daughters who are fans of The Jonas Brothers? These kids weren’t even born when Stevie’s last hit

was made. Ugh..I don’t have kids yet, so I just really don’t understand the appeal on this

wholesome Disney product,but I hope their 15 minutes end soon.

*Katy Perry. As much as I liked that the producers of the Grammy’s insisted everyone sing live

(as they should be!), we got to see Perry’s real talent. Or lack thereof. Cute girl, very retro pop

 look, but Simon Cowell would’ve graded her with “bad karaoke”. That was painful. And she really

 should stand still next time. I felt like I was watching Elaine from Seinfeld when she was trying

 to dance! Leave the dancing to Britney and Beyonce.

*Kenny Chesney. Let me preface this by saying, I love Kenny Chesney. But that song and performance

were the worst! I was so depressed by the time it was over, I left the room I was watching the Grammy’s

 in, went and hugged my boyfriend, then called my mother. (Okay, I didn’t actually make the call but I

thought about it. I never want to think sad thoughts after watching a concert every again. You can do

better next time Kenny!)

*and lastly… Whitney Houston. Ha ha. What can I say? She clearly LOVES having a good time.

 So what if she was str-ugg-ling at the podium. She knows how to keep her name in the paper,

and she got rid of Bobby Brown..so I consider her career on an upswing

We all have our favorite jeans, right? You have the ones with

the holes that YOU earned, not pre-torn for you..you have the

ones that look so good, you wear them (with heels and a sweater)

on casual Fridays..and we’re all guilty of our “fat jeans”. These are

either the  ones you WEAR when you feel fat, or the ones you keep

in the back of your closet inspire you to diet …because they ARE

 your fat jeans, but either way, you’re not proud of them. So …why

did pop/reality star and now country singer, Jessica Simpson,

choose those  from her Louis Vuitton suitcase to wear at a

concert this weekend?

If you don’t know what I”m talking about..here:

Jessica was in FL to perform at the 99.9 KISS-FM Country

chili cook-off ..and I think she gave the chilli a few

tastings! Sorry, that was mean. But seriously? I’m not one

to “ go after” an  outfit unless its REALLY bad and worn

to say, the Emmy’s (!),  but this outfit hit the net like a

political  sex-scandal today. 

Maybe some of you think I’m being petty and I just

don’t get it , but when a star is sportin’  “mom jeans”

on stage, a fashion intervention has to be done. 

And by god, if she is ahead of some fashion curve

on the next phase of popular jeans….. I’ll stick to

the ones I favor..and even the ones I hide in the

back of my closet.

Greetings on Sunday morning from the comforts

of my home office.

**Well, another star, another pregnancy announcement. Molly

 Ringwald, also known as THEE actress when I was growing up in

 middle school (for her roles in movies such as “16 Candles”, “The

Breakfast Club” and “Pretty in Pink”), is tickled pink to announce

she’s expecting twins!! This will be her 2nd daughter and first son

and she’s thrilled to have made the announcement in “People” this

weekend. Look for Molly’s family to double in size this August.

**It seems the Prince has ended his relationshipwith a future Princess.

Prince Harry  has ended his five year relationship with law student,

Chelsey Davy. Harry is third in line to the thrown. So I beg the

question: Does Chesley compare her next boyfriend(s) to Prince

Harry? If it were me? UH, YEAH!! Talk about a big throne to fill!!

“Oh my LAST boyfriend, you know, the Prince…”. I imagine most

guys won’t want to be the “re-bound” boyfriend for Prince Harry’s

ex but  then again, she does get to say, she dated a Prince. Most of

us can just say we kissed a few frogs in our day!

**And finally today, on a more shocking note, had you

 read about this Brazilian model…

Miriana Bridi, who lost her hands and feet last week

after doctors had to suddenly amputate them in an

attempt to save her from a vicious infection? Well, she’s

died from it!! I’m shocked! Here’s the cliff notes version…she is

 this mega Brazilian model, who was on the rise to the

top of her career at just 20 years old..she contracts a urinary

 tract infection (which is very common), around the holidays,

and before she knows it, this drug-resistant infection has

caused her septic shock , doctors cut off her hands and feet in

their attempts to save her life, and less than a month

later, she has passed away from this UTI. Now if you’re a

woman reading this, you’re probably like me, going “OH MY

GOD!” because this young woman had her whole life ahead

of her, and now her family is devastated and the modeling

word is without this beauty.

Ladies, learn a lesson from this tragedy, and if

something just doesn’t feel right, get to your doctor!

yesterday for the  Inauguration….

You know the one.

It involves a very LARGE blinged-out bow?! Look for “Ellen”

to crack some great jokes, in good faith, to the hat that

SHE thought  was a “one of a kind” when she put’s it on

for her daily talk show today.

Think of THIS the next time you go on vacation and

get a little out of hand….(it might be good for your image!)

Amy Winehouse, the British singer with a sultry blues voice and

a reputation for falling down intoxicated, with her bee-hive

hair ‘do’s and her tumultuous marriage to a convicted drug

addict is actually being PRAISED? Wait. It gets better.

According to the Associated Press today, Amy’s current vacation

time spent in St. Lucia (Caribbean) has brought added positive

press to the island. Their Tourism Minister has even gone as

far as to tell the local TV station there that the government

sent her a gift basket filled with local goodies.

Now, here’s where I said , does 2 + 2= 5 on this island? Since

December, when Winehouse arrived, the local media there

has captured her very move…and the highlights include her

tossing a drink on a tourist! AND throwing up at a breakfast

buffet!

I’ve been to these fabulous Caribbean resorts on vacation a

half dozen times (and at times, seen this kind of behavior,

but we won’t talk about that!) and I can’t imagine its “positive”

for the vacation destination…

But when the Tourism Minister was asked about her choice

to invade their island, he said (and this is a direct quote)

“any edge that you can get, you hang on to it”..so I guess

any press really is GOOD press, at least where its warm

and care-free!

So its back, and so am I. Welcome 2009 readers..sorry it took

me a while to get back here..but celebs didn’t’ do much in

those first few days on the new year!

But there ARE things we can look forward to every January

(to distract us from  the blustery  winds and freezing temps).

The Superbowl…the NFL Playoffs…losing that  first few

 pounds of your new new years resolution…the first federal

 holiday off of the year (MLK day)….and the anticipated

return of “American Idol” on Fox.

Now I will admit, I took a few seasons off from watching.

In my previous days as a radio person upstairs at

98Rock, I had to watch each week, religiously,

almost as if it was “homework”..so I was burned

out and took some time off…

but I’m invigorated and happy to be back watching again.

So far…the auditions have been different, good

different. I like that you really don’t know what will

happen when some of the contestants walk into

the room with Randy, Paula,  Simon and the new

girl..Kara. (I like her, I can relate to her

tongue-lashing remarks and edgy rocker style).

The producers are doing a killer job of showing

you a little ‘back story’ on these contestants, and

 the results aren’t always “You’re through to

Hollywood, dogg”.

Sometimes, they just seriously make fun of the

contestant. I LOVE IT! (uh, see the guy with the

white-blond hair, medals around his neck from

elementary school whose own MOTHER

 told him he was a bad singer and wouldn’t’

 go with him to the auditions!).

Its too soon to break down names of people

who are talented enough to make it

on the show…. and that comes later when they

 start to develop their own little personalities

(aww..they almost sound like children. Then

 again, some of them are!).  But I liked the

very last girl to make it through last night (the

 mother of 3 whose house was destroyed by

 a tornado) and the guy who they teased

throughout the first hour, whose wife just died

 4 weeks ago. Awesome voices! Then there’s

the girl with the red hair who just flipped

out on the cameras after her rejection (I played

that back twice, just to see it)…

and the girl from the very first show, who strutted

her bad voice around tucked up in her string bikini. Nice.

 I love that people keep re-inventing how to get the

producers attention.

It’s a show that you can’t turn off, if you bother

 turning it on. And I’m not going to lie,

I have a hard time staying focused from

about week 3 (when the train-wreck audition

 shows end) until about week 12 where it

gets down to the final shows with the

top-notch singers, but I’m going to try

to stick with it.

Consider “Idol” as a way to get you through

 to the weather blahs… and then

 we’ll forget about this addicting show and

 celebrate when the spring weather breaks!

Happy Holidays…time to reflect on what big stories got our attention this

 year….

*Michael Phelps.   8 Gold Medals, brought a Vegas cocktail waitress

home to mom’s on  Thanksgiving and threw down a cool ‘mil for a  

home in Fells Point. Yes, he graced the covers of just about every

 magazine except “Home and Garden”, but he was one of theee

biggest stories in ’08.

*Celebs do politics? I may sound bitter, or maybe nieve, but I

had NO idea celebrities really cared for any presidental decisions

 outside of who was in charge of SAG… or  who the

presidents of the big movie studios were.  ha! Then again, maybe

they think Barack IS the

new president over at New Line Cinema…either way, I’m personally

 glad all that “I heart _(candidate)__”

stuff is finally over and now celebs can get back to their

 drunken marriages and famous divorce settlements..

*When it comes to break-ups, here are some

 my favorites for the year.  

 Madonna and Guy Ritchie vs. A-Rod and his Mrs.   When you have

 A-Rod and Madonna dough, you’re gonna get a divorced in between

lunch with your agent and a photo shoot for your new

fragrence, so did we need  all the back-and- forth in the tabloids

 about how much the broken-hearted spouses will really get in

the settlement? Its down right obnoxious. Think of the people

you know who got divorced this year.  Did the ex get their

 villa in France? How about the pub in London? NO.

They are lucky if they got their car and 1/2 the profit from

the house. Ugh, I’m gettting fired up just

thinking about this B.S.

*Then there was the real-life “Married with Children” family.

Hulk Hogen splits up with  Mrs. Hulk. 

  OMG, why do we care about these people so much? Okay, maybe

“WE” don’t care ..but the gossip mags do! Every other day I’m

 reading something about this Hollywood (Florida) couple.

They look like a bunch of bleached-blond haired white trash

 in tight spandex clothing, surfing the waves of FL. I don’t get it

 but I do like the alimony gossip about how much money

Mrs. Hulk is getting a month ($40,000!!!) while the

 details of their divorce are being sorted out (wasn’t it

HULK who earned those millions in the ring) and

 I love the pictures of their divorcees with their new

significant others. Hulk is dating his daughter, Brooke’s,

best friend and then there’s Mrs. Hulk’s current 19-

 year old boyfriend, who looks more like her son,

then her beau..but I guess in Florida, this is normal? I dunno.

Have a very merry dysfunctional holiday!

*And then there’s a few other of my favorite moments from ’08

–Britney Spears returns the way the public likes… Blond, fun

and sane. And daddy is in charge,

so I expect this to last a while.

–Hugh Hefner loses his #1 and #3 main-stay girlfriends,

Holly and Kendra, to a magician and

NFL player. I guess Hugh was just the gateway boyfriend to

the next level of celebrity boyfriends.

–Paris Hilton’s home is broken into and $2 Million in jewels

 were stolen, and her bedroom ransacked.

Oh, LAPD just updated us..Hilton’s front door was unlocked. That’s

HOT. I’ll let you make your own decisions on this

 one.

–Plaxico Buress. They should really post those signs bigger

at  NYC clubs. No shirt, no shoes, no guns.

Plaxico, that means weapons, not your biceps!

–And my all-time favorite male actor, Jeremy Piven . Maybe he

IS a little bit like his character “Ari Gold”

 on HBO’s Entourage. Piven left Broadway last week after

suffering from Mercury poisoning from too much

sushi… and now producers have their tap shoes in a tizzy.

The actor had been extremely exhausted and

not feeling well through the early run of his Broadway show

“ Speed-the-Plow” and after collapsing, doctors

pulled him from the rest of the run. Well, now the show is

losing money and pointing their chopsticks

Piven’s direction but the best part of this story was the

producer of the show, who was quoted as saying

“Jeremy Piven has left acting, to be a human thermometer”.

HILARIOUS!
